What are Limited edition photography prints?
 

Limited edition prints are printed in a single run or over time in limited supply. They have a specified number, let's say  50 or a 100 (the number I have chosen for my prints) , that an artist decides on printing and selling. Once this number is reached, the image retires and is never sold again. Unlike open edition that has no cap on the numbers, limited editions have a higher value, that could keep going up as the print becomes scarce. Art collectors and art lovers can enjoy owning a piece of fine art photography that not too many people own.

Is Limited edition better than Open edition?
 

Not necessarily. The quality of photography for both limited edition and open edition is the same. An artist or a photographer may decide to print the images on a different kind of a paper (as I have done). They will be priced differently.

 

Should I buy an Open edition or Limited edition photography print?
 

Personally, I think a photography print should be bought if you feel a connection with the art piece and/or the artist/photographer. There has to be that emotional connection, a certain sense of meaning for you personally. 

 

What can you expect to receive when you buy a limited edition from me?

 

When you purchase one of the limited edition photography prints, you can be rest assured of the following - 

 

• I have kept the number as 100 unless otherwise specified for each of my limited edition photography prints. Once this number is reached, the print will go out of circulation and never be sold again. I may sell Artists Proofs of these prints. I will post it in the description section if that happens.

• Each print will be signed, numbered and dated by me in pencil.

• ​You will receive a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity with each print for authenticity and exclusivity.

What can you expect to receive when you buy my open editions?

​

• I send my open edition prints signed. This protects the print from fraud and let's you know as an art buyer that it is a genuine print produced by me.

• You will not receive a Certificate of Authenticity as it's really not necessary and a signature should suffice.

• Also, unlike limited editions, these prints will not be numbered.
